What is the first step in signing up for an apartment?

In order to reserve a room, you need to 1) submit your Application via mail or online form, 2) mail in your non-refundable application fee of $50, along with your refundable $200 deposit by money order to Access Student Housing, 65 Glen Road, Suite 679, Garner, NC 27529.

How do I get a lease agreement?

Go to our Contact page and send us an email, or give us a call at 919-891-0312 and we will give you step-by-step instructions.

When will I receive my lease?

You will receive it on the day you arrive to move in.

Can I pay rent through Financial Aid at school?

Yes, but you are still required to pay your first month’s rent when you move in.

What are the other ways can I pay my rent?

You can pay rent via the website: accessstudenthousing.com, money order, or check.

How far ahead do I need to pay my deposit in order to reserve my spot?

You should pay your deposit at least 60 to 120 days ahead of your arrival. The earlier the better allows us the time to prepare your apartment for you.

When is my first month’s rent due?

Your first month’s rent is due when you move in. You must bring it with you in order to move in.

Who do I make my money order out to?

Please make all money orders payable to Access Student Housing.

Are any of my deposits refundable?

Your $50 app fee is non-refundable. Only if you are denied enrollment to school, will you be refunded your $200 housing deposit. Refunds of rent payments will be made in accordance with your lease agreement. Written notice of cancellation must be received thirty (30) days prior to original move-in date in order to receive a deposit refund. If your apartment complex requires a gate card and it is not returned you will be charged a $75 fee to replace it.

Am I required to have a meal plan at one of your apartments?

No.

Am I allowed to have pets in the apartment?

No, you are not allowed to have animals in the apartment at any time.

What should I expect the day I move in?

When you arrive at school a few days before classes begin, you will meet with your ASH representative in the morning, submit your signed paperwork with first month’s rent, receive your keys, and then move in.

What happens if I don’t get along with my roommate(s)?

If the conflict cannot be resolved after discussion then you may be transferred to another apartment at the discretion of your ASH representative.

Do I have to keep my apartment clean?

Yes, there will be at least one inspection for cleanliness per month. You must clean the apartment and take trash to the dumpster daily, otherwise you will be fined a cleaning fee or possibly be evicted. Must have bed bug mattress cover on mattress or be charged $150 fine.

What happens if someone in my apartment doesn’t pay their rent?

Don’t worry! Each student in your apartment is on a separate lease. You are only responsible for your rent each month.
